About This Service
The Advocacy Department helps clients with life matters that may not line up specifically with another agency service. Many clients that have used Advocacy services for help in most every area of their lives.
In addition to helping our clients access health insurance benefits, we can provide assistance with navigating government entitlement and benefits programs including social security, public housing, and food and nutrition. In addition, our staff can liaison with case managers at other agencies and organizations where our clients might need services and help them navigate any issues that they might be experiencing.

No. Our advocacy services are designed to serve the needs of all individuals regardless of HIV status.
Yes, you need to be a client of GMHC to access our Advocacy services.
Due to COVID-19, staff are providing remote (via-phone) intake services for people who wish to become a GMHC client and access services. We are also contacting clients in need of reassessments and conducting reassessments via phone. Staff will assess client needs and make referrals as appropriate both internally and externally.
