Latex Condoms

Latex condoms (external condoms; “rubbers”) provide protection from HIV and other STIs (sexually transmitted infections). It is important to check the expiration date on the condom before use and open the condom wrapper along the edge without using a sharp object. When used correctly, condoms seldom break, tear, or slip. You can also use an unlubricated or a flavored condom for oral sex, but flavored condoms should not be used for vaginal or anal sex.

For oral-anal or oral-vaginal sex, condoms can be cut along the center to use as a protective barrier. Never re-use a condom and be sure to use a water-based lubricant, as oils break down latex condoms.
