In addition to the donation opportunities provided by our Benefactors, Legacy Circle supporters, and corporate partners, you can support GMHC’s services in many other ways.
Donate Stock
Gifts of stock are a smart way to help support our mission while also receiving great tax benefits. If you have held the stock for more than 12 months, you can deduct its full fair-market value at the time of your gift, regardless of how much you paid for it. You also have the chance to reduce or eliminate your
capital gains taxes. If your stock is held in a brokerage account, your broker can transfer your gift electronically. He or she will need the following information:

Secure Matching Gifts
Did you know many companies offer a matching gift program to encourage philanthropy among their employees? Gifts from employees’ spouses, as well as retirees, may also qualify.
Contributions of any amount help GMHC end the AIDS epidemic and uplift the lives of all affected.
You can use the form below to see if your employer offers a matching gift program. By simply completing your company’s matching gift form, you may be able to double, or even triple, the impact of your gift to GMHC!

Designate GMHC for Gifts through Donor-Advised Funds
A donor-advised fund is like a charitable investment account, for the sole purpose of supporting charitable organizations you care about – like GMHC. When you contribute cash, securities or other assets to a donor-advised fund at a public charity, you are generally eligible to take an immediate tax deduction. Then, those funds can be invested for tax-free growth and you can recommend grants for distribution to virtually any IRS-qualified public charity. Attend an Event
GMHC holds fundraising events throughout the year to raise critical funds for our services. They include the largest and long-running HIV/AIDS fundraiser – AIDS Walk New York. For more information about our events, visit our events page or contact info@gmhc.org.
Fundraise on Facebook
Facebook allows for several ways to donate to LGBT charities, including GMHC:
- Select Fundraisers, then click “+ Raise Money,” Select “Nonprofit Organization” and search for “GMHC.”
- Add a Donate button to a Facebook post by selecting “Support Nonprofit” in your status, then searching for “GMHC.”
Donate on AmazonSmile
Go to AmazonSmile and search for “Gay Men’s Health Crisis Inc.” Select our organization, then shop as you normally would. As long as you start your Amazon shopping at smile.amazon.com, Amazon will donate 0.5 percent of the price of your eligible purchases to GMHC.
In-kind Donations
Many organizations or individuals choose to contribute to GMHC through in-kind support. Currently, GMHC is unable to accept any in-kind goods other than professional attire for our Workforce Development program on a case-by-case basis. Additionally, GMHC is not able to pick up items; they must be dropped off at the agency, once an in-kind donation is approved. For more information, you may contact info@gmhc.org or 212-367-1000.
