COUNTDOWN TO GMHC's MOVE — SPECIAL EDITION!
October 29, 2010

To accommodate a request from WNET, the current tenant on the 6th and 7th floors at 450 West 33rd Street, GMHC's move has been rescheduled to the early part of 2011.

Greetings!

To accommodate a request from WNET, the current tenant on the 6th and 7th floors at 450 West 33rd Street, GMHC's move has been rescheduled to the early part of 2011.
WNET has realized that its own move to their new office space on 8th Avenue will require more preparation time than originally anticipated.  Given the strong partnership developed with WNET over the past year of negotiations, we have agreed to accommodate this request.

At this time, we are working out how the postponement will affect construction and rental costs.

The new move date will not disrupt any of our services which include our Meals Program and HIV testing, as well as the rest of the important work we do every day to serve those affected by HIV/AIDS.
GMHC will remain at 119 West 24th Street up until the new move date and will maintain current hours of operation.   Also, the opening of the GMHC Prevention and Wellness Center in Chelsea will occur simultaneously in 2011.

We will continue to provide updates on our move and please be sure to let us know of any questions or concerns you may have.

This new move timeframe means our beloved traditional end-of-year holiday celebrations will continue and we look forward to sharing that time with all of the GMHC family.

Marjorie Hill, PhD
Chief Executive Officer

What Will Happen to the Community Groups that Currently Meet at West 24th Street?

There will be no impact on these groups and their access to West 24th Street will continue as it currently is. These groups will also have a home with us at either West 33rd Street or our new Prevention and Wellness Center in 2011.

How Will this Affect the Annual AIDS Walk New York Which is Scheduled for May 15, 2011?

Given the likely timing of the move, the AIDS Walk New York office will remain on the second floor at West 24th Street and will join the rest of the GMHC family at West 33rd Street after the Walk.
