GMHC - Fight Aids. Love Life.

Why Volunteer?

In 1981, we began with the desire and dedication of a handful of volunteers educating the public about a fast-growing epidemic and providing support to those affected by HIV/AIDS. Today, you can help carry on the legacy of that critical work by joining the committed volunteer community at GMHC. By utilizing your unique abilities and talents in a volunteer role you can improve the quality of the lives of those living with and effected by HIV/AIDS and have a meaningful and rewarding experience.

If you are interested in volunteering, here are the first steps to take:

  1. Check out our volunteer opportunities listings.
  2. Download a volunteer application (PDF) or visit the 7th floor reception desk.
  3. Come to an Open House held every Wednesday starting promptly at 10:30 am or 6:30 pm. It runs about an hour. Please bring your completed application to expedite the process.
