GMHC - Fight Aids. Love Life.

Why Volunteer?

In 1981, we began with the desire and dedication of a handful of volunteers educating the public about a fast-growing epidemic and providing support to those affected by HIV/AIDS. Today, you can carry on the legacy of that critical work by joining the committed volunteer community at GMHC.  You can apply your unique abilities and talents in a volunteer role that will improve the quality of the lives of those living with and effected by HIV/AIDS and have a meaningful and rewarding experience.

If you are interested in volunteering, here are the first steps to take:

  1. Check out our volunteer opportunities listings.
  2. Download a volunteer application (PDF) or call 212.367.1030 to have one mailed to you.
  3. Come to an Open House held the first Wednesday of every month starting promptly at 10:30 am or 6:30 pm. It runs about an hour and a half. Bring your completed application.

GMHC is located in The Tisch Building, 119 West 24 Street, New York, NY. We are near the 23rd Street station of the C, E, F, N, R, 1, 9 and 6 train.
