Newly Diagnosed Groups
Getting connected with support is one of the most important first
steps for someone who is newly diagnosed HIV+. Our groups are
designed to help members meet other people like themselves and
find new ways to integrate, cope, and thrive with their HIV status.
New groups are always forming. Contact Group Services for information
on the next available group at 212.367.1129. You can also check
out our HIV+ drop in group (see below).
Open Groups (No registration required)
Many of our Open Groups are open to people of all genders
and sexualities. Click on links below for more details,

Many Men, Many Voices
A weekend retreat for gay and bisexual men of color designed to
help participants identify and understand factors that influence
behaviors in general as well as negative feelings that can be
associated with risk taking behaviors. For upcoming retreats,

Steps Towards Change (Substance Use/ Harm Reduction) Group
(Men Only)
A quarterly discussion group for gay and bisexual men to discuss
sexual activity and substance use. This is a non-judgmental space
and is open to men at all stages of change around substance use.

HIV+ Support Group (Open)

Want to talk to someone who can relate to your experience? Whether
you're newly diagnosed or diagnosed for many years and seeking
renewed support, our drop in group is the place to start. NO REGISTRATION
REQUIRED.
Crystal Meth Support Group
(Open)
Starts January 16, 2007
6:30 pm 8 pm Tuesdays
This harm reduction based group provides a space to explore your
use, your relationship to sex and dating with and without Crystal,
questions around changing your use, living 'in the community' with
and without Crystal. NO REGISTRATION REQUIRED.
Trading Sex for... Money,
Food, Shelter? Sex Workers' Support Group (Open)
Starts January 17, 2007
6:30 pm 8 pm Wednesdays
Room 525
Do you exchange sex for money, a place to stay, food, drugs? This
group is open to people who are positive or negative and are interested
in talking about their experiences, staying safe, making ends meet,
making friends, getting by, getting high, and more. NO REGISTRATION
REQUIRED.
Black Men's Group/ Soul Food (Open Men
Only)
7 pm 9 pm Thursdays
A health and wellness program for gay and bisexual men of color.
The group alternates between "Sacred Space," Condom Wrap, and a
general discussion group. NO REGISTRATION REQUIRED.
Spanish Support Group (Open)

A general HIV+ support group, facilitated in Spanish. NO REGISTRATION
REQUIRED.
Care Givers Group (Open)

Nest Meeting dates: January 5 and 19; February 2 and 16; March
2, 16 and 30; April 13 and 27; May 11 and 25. You're caring for
a sick loved one. Get support in caring for yourself. This facilitated
drop-in support group is designed to give you time and space to
give back to yourself and to receive the emotional care of others
who understand the pressures you are experiencing in caring for
a sick loved one. NO REGISTRATION REQUIRED.
Bereavement Group (Open)
6 pm 7:30 pm Alternate Tuesdays

Next meeting dates: January 2, 16, and 30; February 13 and 27;
March 13 and 27; April 10 and 24; May 8 and 22. Have you lost someone
close to you? Looking for support in your grief and healing? This
facilitated drop-in support group is designed to support you as
you navigate through the grief and healing process. NO REGISTRATION
REQUIRED.
GAPP - Grupo de Apoio Prevencao em
Portugues Para Gays e Bissexuais HIV+ [Portuguese Support Group]
