Reception Commemorates World's Largest AIDS Fundraising Event
More than $122 Million Raised to Date for Tri-State AIDS Service Organizations
AIDS Walk New York Kick-Off Reception — Thursday, April 19 — XL Nightclub
New York, NY — CBS 2's Kristine Johnson (co-anchor of CBS 2 News at 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. weekdays) will join hundreds of key supporters - including corporate and community leaders as well as top fundraisers - at XL Nightclub this Thursday to kick off the final weeks of the campaign leading up to the 27th annual AIDS Walk New York (AWNY), to be held in Central Park on Sunday, May 20. Johnson will host this inspiring and entertaining reception, which honors the AIDS Walk's most esteemed participants, donors, volunteers, and sponsors.
Other special guests that evening will include New York State Assemblymember Richard Gottfried; Marjorie J. Hill, PhD, Chief Executive Officer of GMHC, AWNY's primary beneficiary; and AIDS Walk Founder and Producer, Craig R. Miller. Also attending will be representatives from the event's Presenting Sponsor, Duane Reade, and other top sponsors including Bristol-Myers Squibb, Delta Air Lines, Bloomberg, CBS 2, Gap Inc., Barclays, and The Village Voice. CBS 2 has returned for the fourth year as the exclusive broadcast television sponsor.
