The Assistant Controller will be responsible for the timely and accurate recording of all transactions that impact the GMHC general ledger and supervision of accounting operations that include accounts payable, payroll, cash management, and similar activities. Responsibilities include coordinating the monthly closing process and assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements, supervise accounting personnel including reviews of the accuracy of all transactions, bank reconciliations, and accounts payable checks. The Assistant Controller will direct all accounting functions and ensure compliance with Finance policies, procedures and internal fiscal quality control systems throughout the agency. Further duties include assisting in the preparation of all schedules needed to complete the annual agency-wide audit, grant audits, Workers’ Compensation audit and ensure the proper accounting and timely distribution of client related funds from various government support programs. This position also requires training and supervising staff on fiscal procedures, back-up support, assisting with special projects and other related duties assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications: BA or BS degree in Accounting is required. Proven experience in managing accounting operations; demonstrated proficiency in the use of Excel and other accounting/financial applications software such as SAGE MIP. Supervisory experience necessary with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines; must have good communication skills. The position requires a through knowledge of non-profit accounting, excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills and the ability to articulate and communicate financial information to non-financial staff. The Assistant Controller should have extensive knowledge of GAAP, fund accounting and financial management. The Assistant Director, Donor Database will oversee and implement all aspects of Raiser's Edge, NetCommunity and data overlays as related to the processing, maintenance and reporting of all gifts and donor records, oversee data entry and production of gift acknowledgment letters and necessary donor reports and serve as point person for all of the Department of Development's information and overall development systems needs. Specific responsibilities will include ensuring database is running efficiently at all times and is providing information needed for effective fundraising across the department. The AD will act as a customer service representative to the Development staff by attending to all of their database and systems needs, overseeing the batching, processing and acknowledgment of donations raised from events such as direct mail, major gifts and corporations/foundations. The Assistant Director will monitor links between development and cash receipts in finance, perform all complex data reports and queries along with exporting data to different programs.
The Assistant Director will maintain a good working relationship with the donor database vendor (Blackbaud/Raiser's Edge), continually refining procedures and updating software and hardware to meet changes in fund-raising initiatives along with the department’s needs. The Assistant Director will ensure training to the Development staff is ongoing through the use of Raiser's Edge database and ensuring a thorough understanding of all modules, producing mailing lists for all direct marketing campaigns, special event invitations and newsletters, producing daily gift reports, monthly reconciliation reports, donor lists for newsletters and annual reports. The Assistant Director will serve as a liaison to Information Systems department to ensure smooth operations of Development department's hardware and software, interacting with Finance department to ensure accurate recording of all contributions and to perform monthly and end of FY reconciliations as well as serving as liaison to Department of Communications in relation to Development section of GMHC website, providing vision and oversight for future upgrades of database and development systems.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline is preferred. Thorough understanding of Raiser's Edge 7.8 along with all modules and report components required. Proven experience in donor database management and the ability to serve as a “database service” representative to the entire Department of Development is a must. The AD should possess supervisory skills, and the ability to train staff at all levels on proper use of Raiser's Edge database. Specialized skills including knowledge of SQL and thorough knowledge of Microsoft Access, Excel, Word and Goldmine. Thorough knowledge of mail merges and development systems. Complete understanding of multiple import/export data formats, including but not limited to ASCII, CSV, DBF, tab-delimited; and the programs used to create/read them (including Notepad). Experience with complex administrative systems involving both paper and electronic information. Previous experience in fund-raising setting preferred.

Assumes primary responsibility for administrative, supervisory and clinical management of individual and group counseling for mental health and substance abuse services titled “Team 119” at GMHC. The Assistant Director oversees the Rapid Response System, providing crisis intervention and clinical triage for GMHC clients. With the Director, the Assistant Director provides guidance and direction for the Palm Center/Counseling and Support holding key responsibilities as a manager and representative of the department. Position is the lead member of a multi-disciplinary treatment team that works to improve overall client functioning by designing and implementing individualized treatment plans addressing the continuum of mental health and medical care needs. In addition, this position will provide direct client care including assessment, individual one-on-one counseling, group counseling and crisis intervention.

Qualifications: Advanced degree and New York State License in psychology, social work, or other mental health practitioner field is required, Ph.D. preferred. SIFI is required for social work applicants. Individual should have proven knowledge and experience working in the mental health counseling, harm reduction and recovery readiness models along with demonstrated clinical supervisory experience, preferable working with professional and paraprofessional staff. Proven clinical skills and experience working with diverse populations of men and women living with and at risk for HIV/AIDS with complex care needs, sexual violence, poverty, substance use histories is required.
The AD Mental Health should have established experience supervising and managing both grand driven and performance based mental health programs. Experience in facilitating groups, workshops and individuals in areas of substance abuse, particularly in communities of color required. This position requires a thorough knowledge of HIV/AIDS and/or other chronic health conditions and the social service needs of people living with HIV/AIDS.
Additional skills required are excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks in a timely fashion and ability to follow through. Superior written and verbal communication skills along and the ability to work on a team of paraprofessionals and professionals is essential. Other skills include comprehension of crisis intervention, group design and facilitation, general counseling skills, and developmental psychology. This position will be required to work a minimum of one evening per week and some weekend hours required to attend special events (e.g. AIDS Walk, LGBT Pride events).

The Assistant Coordinator of Vocational Counseling works with displaced workers with barriers to employment to ensure their smooth transition back into the workplace. The Assistant Coordinator will be required to work with clients on an ongoing basis and support clients in work related issues including, but not limited to creating an employment plan, child care, benefits, transitional benefits, budget management, and creating short and long term goals. They will meet with clients on an ongoing basis to discuss and support client in employment related issues.
The Assistant Coordinator will facilitate a portion of the job readiness training classes and will be responsible for overseeing the data entry in GMHC’s data base as well as the data entry required sources. This individual will work in collaboration with the clients other support services providers. The Assistant Coordinator will be responsible for meeting with the Job Developers, Job Readiness Training Instructor and other job readiness staff to insure clients’ success in securing and retaining employment.
This position will maintain and input data entry as required by GMHC, and other contracts along with maintaining client case files and writing detailed case notes.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Social Science, Communications, or minimum of 3 years equivalent experience is required. The Director, Communications and Marketing will partner with the Chief Operating Officer to influence the public perception of GMHC by managing all agency marketing, communications and social responsibility activities that promote GMHC’s fight to end the AIDS epidemic and uplift the lives of all affected. Initiatives include but are not limited to marketing and communications plan development and implementation, brand management, internal communications, public policy advocacy endeavors, social responsibility programs and web-based activities. The Director will develop and implement a pro-active media relations strategy for consistent and effective outreach to community, trade, government, city-wide, national and international media outlets to increase awareness of the agency. Specific areas of responsibility include creating a comprehensive and strategic communications plan that will further GMHC’s visibility, consistently deliver key messages and drive funding, developing the agency’s Crisis Communications plan and management of all breaking news situations, oversee the development of all GMHC publications and electronic communications, including GMHC listings, brochures, palm cards, departmental newsletters and the annual report, coordinating agency representation at national and local conferences, and arranging for distribution of agency materials at these events. Other duties include developing and overseeing on-line content for the GMHC's website, blog, Facebook and Twitter, planning and executing press conferences, establishing institutional standards for messaging and media protocols, and training board, staff and volunteers in compliance. Additionally, the Director will write and place media pieces (print and online) on behalf of key GMHC spokespeople.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring all mechanical functions are operating at peak efficiency by responding to daily staff requests and to the helpdesk e-mails and phone line. Responsibilities include opening up the building and locking down when required, plus some level of security response when needed, serving on the fire brigade, and organization of the agency’s keys and distribution of keys to staff. The Maintenance Technician performs a daily walk through of the facility checking that the heat/air/cooling/water/coolers/security doors are in working order, and responds to daily service calls to clean and plunge a stopped up toilet, clean spills, abate trip hazards, leaks, electrical issues, etc. Also, the Maintenance Technician prepares trash/recycling and arranges pick up by carting company, provides relief for the security officers when necessary in the lobby or in the dining room, responds to any and all security incidents and calls, completing incident reports when necessary, re-configures office space and moves staff internally when necessary. The Maintenance Technician fills in for Mailroom Technician and performs mailroom functions when required, which will include assisting during the heavy mailings (AIDS WALK, Development) trips to the post office to cart the mailings. The Maintenance Technician will be expected to work different hours with very short notice due to co-workers being out, on vacation, sick, etc. It may be necessary to work on weekends as required.

Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent is required. Experience in Facilities operations, fire suppression, security, various components of building maintenance and repairs are musts. Must know how to multi-task effectively and work well under pressure, as this position often requires that tasks be performed simultaneously. Ability to lift at least 50lbs, ferry mails to and from the post office using a hand truck several blocks from GMHC is required. Bi-Lingual English/Spanish is a plus.

The Technical Support Analyst II ensures continuity of computer system services for computer users by providing the technical expertise, assistance, and project coordination necessary to install computer software products, modify/repair hardware and resolve technical problems. Additionally, the Tech Support Analyst oversees the AI Condom Supply Program which partially funds this position. Specific responsibilities include configuring machines, installing software, software patches and joining to the correct domain, participating in integration testing of new software on existing and intended environment, communicating with the vendor and various technical web-sites to obtain software fixes for software and hardware problems, providing technical support for software problems via the phone as well as desk site visits, serving as a backup to the LAN Administrator and verifying that nightly backups have been performed, and tracking customer issues from inception to resolution, including preparing monthly report (Track!T) to show call tracking type and volume. The Tech Support Analyst II processes ID creation requests for new employees and ID deletions for former employees, and provides software training to groups as required. The Tech Support Analyst II is the primary conduit for the State’s AI Condom Supply Program, and is responsible for updating inventory of condoms, shipping condoms upon AI request, and interfacing with mailroom for maintaining FedEx shipping costs/payment.

Superior communication skills with strong customer focus, and proven experience serving a broad customer base is required. Excellent documentation procedures and time management skills are essential, as is the ability to work with minimal supervision.
