| Teas and Juice
Teas are a calming and soothing way to get
the supportive and protective benefits of herbs. The following liver
flushes are helpful in cleansing the liver:
A Tea for Your Liver Recipe #1
• Mix to taste: licorice, dandelion, chicory, turmeric, and ginger.
• If you would like, add: anise, caraway, celery seed, dill, clove,
fennel, peppermint, rosemary, and vanilla bean.
A Tea for Your Liver Recipe #2
• Use black currant leaves to make a tea that has been used as
a remedy for hepatitis, liver ailments, and many other illnesses
. • Drink 3 to 4 cups a day.
A Tea for Your Liver Recipe #3
• Use green tea to stabilize liver cell membranes, making them
less vulnerable to toxin damage, and to provide the body with a
source of antioxidants. Moreover, green tea has been shown to improve
symptoms of chronic hepatitis and to improve liver function tests.
• Add 1 teaspoon of dried herb to 1 cup water, steep for 10 minutes,
and drink 3 cups a day.
• Avoid if intolerant to small amounts of caffeine.
A Juice for Your Liver Recipe #4
• Blend a whole lemon (which is washed well), 1 tablespoon of olive
oil, and 1 cup of fruit juice or water.
• Strain and drink.
• If desired, add garlic or ginger.
• If having problems taking acidic foods/drinks, add a teaspoon
of slippery elm powder to the strained juice and mix well. Drink
immediately as it will start to thicken.
