Cynthia Nixon Hosts GMHC's SAVOR Fundraising Dinner In New York
Cynthia Nixon joined a glittering crowd of celebrities, activists and other personalities at the Gay Men's Health Crisis' (GMHC) fifth annual SAVOR dinner, held at New York's Ciprani 42nd Street.
The Emmy and Tony Award-winning "Sex and the City" star, 46, served as host of the event, which honored the Keith Haring Foundation and Joy A. Tomchin. Tomchin, a former GMHC board president who executive produced the Oscar-nominated documentary "How To Survive A Plague," was given the Judith Peabody Humanitarian Award for her advocacy work.... Visiting our Meals Program is like visiting a busy restaurant. Our Chef Wilson Rodriguez, his staff, volunteers and student interns are in the kitchen preparing food, and teams of volunteers are serving meals and bussing tables in the dining room. How GMHC's Savor Dinner Nourishes People Living With HIV and AIDS
The dining room on the seventh floor was full for the recent holiday dinner. The mood was upbeat as our clients -- men and women living with HIV and AIDS -- relished the beautifully-prepared meal. As the Chef of the GMHC's Meals Program, I enjoy walking throughout the room and talking to our clients, many of whom I see throughout the year.
