Charming, multi-faceted, versatile and beautiful are just a few of the characteristics that define Tracee Ellis Ross and make her one of the hottest chameleons in the entertainment industry today. She is described as a “trend setter with signature style,” and a woman “gracefully redefining the rules for success.”

Ross is best known as the star of the hit sitcom "Girlfriends," which ran for eight seasons on The UPN/CW network. Her role on the series earned her eight NAACP Image Award nominations including two wins, one in 2007 and another in 2009, in the category of Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. She next will star in and produce the upcoming series, "Reed Between the Lines," opposite Malcolm Jamal Warner. The sitcom will premiere on BET on October 11, 2011.

Ross also recently completed filming on the short film series "Project 5."  She appears in "Lili," directed by Alicia Keys. Produced by Jennifer Aniston, Kristin Hahn, Paula Wagner, Marta Kaufman, Franacesa Silvestri and Kevin Chinoy, the collection of 5 short films will air on Lifetime in October 2011 and serve as a vehicle to inform and inspire dialogue, research, prevention, and legislation supporting the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Demi Moore and Jennifer Aniston directed other shorts in the series.

Earlier this year Ross returned to the stage and garnered rave reviews in Nora and Delia Ephron's "Love, Loss, and What I Wore," first at the Westside Theatre in NY and then the "vibrant" Ross, "[brought] down the house" when she opened the show in Los Angeles for its run at the Geffen Playhouse.

Ross's feature film work has included HBO's "Life Support" with Queen Latifah, Tyler Perry's "Daddy's Little Girls" with Gabrielle Union and "Hanging Up" with Jennifer Connelly and Marcia Gay Harden, to name a few.

Ross began her television career as the host of her own television show, Lifetime's "The Dish," for which she was named a Face to Watch by the Los Angeles Times. She has written, produced and performed in segments for cable shows, appeared as a regular on MTV's sketch comedy series "The Lyricist Lounge Show" and guest starred, hosted and co-hosted various other television programs. She has also lent her talents to a duo of pivotal guest starring roles, one opposite Amy Brenneman in ABC's "Private Practice" earlier this year, and the other on CBS' hit crime drama "CSI" opposite Laurence Fishburne.

Ross is a dedicated and passionate volunteer, intent on making a difference in the lives of at-risk teenage girls. She works closely with Aviva Family and Children Services in Los Angeles and also The Big Brother Big Sister organization in Los Angeles, Michigan and New York, where she has held the self-esteem workshop she created called "Dealing with Life." Ross was honored by The Los Angeles Urban League as "Volunteer of the Year" for 2004 and was the 2009 recipient of the "Impact Award" from the Aviva Organization.

As a vetted Obama Surrogate, Ross campaigned across the country during 2007 and 2008 and actively participates in the President and First Lady Obama's Mentoring Initiative.

Ross is a graduate of Brown University and the William Esper Acting Studio.
