One of the many positive missions of GMHC is to "uplift the lives of all affected" by HIV/AIDS, and that's exactly why I design clothes... to encourage a confidence and a uniqueness for everyone."  Marlon Gobel

During his first seven years in fashion, Marlon Gobel worked with two established American men’s fashion designers; Thom Browne and Michael Bastian. He views his time with both designers as apprenticeships, because for Marlon, it was
the desire to learn the best skills from talented designers that mattered most.

His start in fashion began as Director of Operations for Thom Browne, where he saw art and fashion mesh. After three years appreciating couture tailoring, Gobel wanted to broaden his knowledge of a retail line, and with the help of Men’s VOGUE, he migrated to Michael Bastian. His position as Assistant Creative Director for Bastian allowed him to work and forge strong relationships with established brands such as Bill Blass and Gant. Gobel was able to add fragrance, packaging, and lifestyle to his list of fashion endeavors, further cultivating his fashion proficiency.

The launch of MARLON GOBEL was strategic. It was only about when; FALL 2009. Gobel wanted a full appreciation for fashion before starting his own label, and he launched his eponymous line with a fashion proficiency unlike any other. His shows at the Park Avenue Armory and Four Seasons Restaurant, along with being the first all men’s show adorning all Marlon’s models with Christian Louboutin shoes, and also his continued work with top hair and make-up teams have only validated his earned spot within the fashion industry.

Gobel has accumulated 9 years in the fashion world, and years of art & design study. His excitement for fashion is contagious and his creativity is addictive. His ability to see style and glamor in anything is inspiring. Marlon Gobel has positioned himself in New York City and is becoming a huge force in the future of men’s fashion.

Since his brand’s inception MARLON GOBEL has been sold at BERGDORF GOODMAN men’s store on the 3rd floor and is also currently sold at TOMORROWLAND in Tokyo, Japan.
