Partners in Planning

Partners in Planning was established in 1995 to recognize individuals who have remembered GMHC in their wills or through other types of planned giving. Join Partners in Planning and enjoy the special benefits of membership. There are many ways to become a member:

Bequests
Making GMHC a beneficiary in your will ensures that you will continue to have an impact on future generations even after you can no longer personally direct your charitable giving, and your estate will be entitled to a charitable deduction for the amount of the gift.

Real Estate
Gifts of real estate can include homes, condo and co-op apartments, undeveloped land, farm land and commercial property. Real estate can be given outright or you can donate your primary or vacation home and continue to live there by gifting the property through a retained life estate agreement.

Charitable Remainder Trusts
GMHC can help you determine ways in which you can donate to the organization now while receiving income and tax benefits.

Other Assets
It is possible to name GMHC as the beneficiary of life insurance, retirement plans, and savings accounts. These gifts also qualify for estate tax deductions.

Partners in Planning Membership Benefits
When you make a planned gift to GMHC, you will become one of our Partners in Planning and receive the following benefits:

  • Invitations to Partners in Planning annual recognition event, and other special events such as our Toast at Twilight spring reception
  • Planned giving seminars presented twice a year by experts in estate and financial planning
  • Special invitations to forums and presentations about prevention, treatment, and policy issues
  • A complimentary subscription to our GMHC donor newsletter
  • Listing in the GMHC annual report and other publications

For more information about leaving a bequest to GMHC please contact Brian Schulman.
