Matching Gifts

Your donation to GMHC makes a huge difference in the lives of our clients -- but did you know that you double or triple the size of your donation by using Matching Gifts? Many employers -- as many as 65% of Fortune 500 companies -- offer this benefit to employees. Here's how it works:

  1. You make a donation to GMHC, and save the confirmation email or letter.
  2. Then, contact your company’s Human Resources (HR) Department to ask about a Matching Gift Program, and what their procedure is (usually this involves a brief form, as well as a copy of your Gift Receipt).
  3. You're done!

From here, your company will contact GMHC to verify the receipt of your donation and, upon verification, will write a check to GMHC to match the amount of your gift! Once we receive these funds, your GMHC donation record will be updated with the increased amount.

Payroll Deductions (Employee Designated Giving)

Employee designated giving is one of the easiest ways to contribute to GMHC. This type of giving program allows you to give directly through an automatic deduction from your paycheck. Employees pledge a specific, self-determined amount from each paycheck, which is then deducted out of each pay period and sent to GMHC on a regular basis. All donations through the employee giving program are tax deductible. To find out if your company participates in employee designated giving, simply contact your company's Human Resources department.
