Testing and Outreach |
Ongoing 2010–2011 |
| One in four New Yorkers living with HIV is still unaware of his or her status. This statistic greatly illuminates the need for increased HIV testing services in all of our communities. In addition to our onsite testing services offered through the David Geffen Center for HIV Prevention and Education, the great accessibility and simplicity of rapid testing technology has afforded GMHC the opportunity to offer testing at offsite locations and events. GMHC also has a mobile testing van that goes to different venues around New York City to offer targeted testing where high-risk populations (women, youth, men who have sex with men) congregate. Opportunities designed to underwrite this important work (both on and off-site) are offered year-round. Sponsorship benefits include corporate attribution for population-specific testing days, opportunity for give-away of promotional items as testing incentives, and attribution on printed materials. | |
