About Our Services
GMHC’s nutrition and meals services support the health and well-being of our clients living with and affected by HIV and AIDS.
Among our services, we offer meals, nutrition counseling, nutrition education groups, monthly food vouchers, and grab-and-go food distribution.
General Programs
Eligibility: All GMHC clients.
Meals Program
We are currently serving lunch to GMHC clients on Tuesdays, Wednesdays (starting 4/10), and Thursdays, 11:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. Please note the following:
- Masks are no longer required in the building, and will be optional for staff and clients in the dining rooms;
- Masks may only be removed when clients are eating meals in the dining room;
- Clients will be asked to present their GMHC ID, or another form of ID for sign in.
Grab-And-Go-Pantry
Between 11:00 a.m.– 2:00 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, the Keith Haring Food Pantry Program provides a shelf-stable food bag to all clients once a month.
Long-Term Nutrition Programs
Eligibility: GMHC clients living with HIV/AIDS who live in the 5 boroughs who meet income eligibility requirements.
FNS
- Monthly client choice pantry pick up with shelf-stable food items, fresh produce, dairy and eggs
- Nutrition counseling and group workshops available
Clients enrolled in our FNS program can pick up Grab-and-Go once per month AND FNS pantry once per month.
NHE
- Monthly $100 Key Food gift cards for grocery shopping food items, fresh produce, dairy and eggs
- Nutrition education and group workshops required for continued participation

Yes, most of our Meals and Nutrition services are designed to serve the needs of people who are living with HIV/AIDS. However, our Grab-and-Go food distribution program is available to HIV-negative people who are experiencing food insecurity.

Due to COVID-19, staff are providing remote intake services by phone for people who wish to become a GMHC client and access services. Staff will assess your needs and make referrals to programs and services provided by GMHC and/or our partners throughout New York City.
