GMHC Celebrates LGBT Pride
Commemorates 40th Anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising

GMHC annually participates in the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) Pride festivals and parades throughout the five boroughs. Our work during these events provides opportunities to demonstrate our commitment to fighting social injustices, support the lives of LGBT folks and their allies, offer HIV testing, and raise visibility of our mission—GMHC fights to end the AIDS epidemic and uplift the lives of all affected.
This year marks the 40th anniversary of the Stonewall riots, a historical passage in the LGBT-rights movement. Over the past 40 years, the LGBT community has built a collective identity, increased its visibility and has been the forerunner of many social, political and cultural advances.

Time: 11:30 am
Where to line up: 56th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues — Look for people in teeshirts with this
year's theme (see top of flyer).
Subway: F train to 57th Street and 6th Avenue, exit at 55th Street
GMHC teeshirt: Everyone who marches with GMHC will receive a teeshirt. Teeshirts will be
available on Thursday, June 25 or Friday, June 26, 8th floor at GMHC. A limited amount of teeshirts will be available on the morning of the March where we will be lining up.
What to bring: Bottled water, sunscreen, snacks and money for food. Wear comfortable, sturdy
shoes for walking.
