Developing a National HIV/AIDS Strategy

Columbia University
Alumni Auditorium
650 West 168th Street
New York, NY 10032
6 pm – 8 pm
Friday, December 4, 2009

The Obama Administration is committed to developing a National HIV/AIDS Strategy (NHAS) that reduces HIV incidence, increases access to care and improves health outcomes, and reduces HIV-related health disparities. The White House's Office of National AIDS Policy (ONAP), directed by Jeffrey Crowley, is committed to developing the NHAS through a process that includes a broad range of perspectives and stakeholders.

To that end, ONAP announced plans to conduct a series of community discussions across the United States that began in August at the CDC HIV Prevention Conference. The final community discussion of 2009 will take place on Friday, December 4 at Columbia University’s Alumni Auditorium, 650 West 168th Street in New York City. The closest subway trains are the #1 or C to West 168th Street. Seating will be limited.

Individuals interested in attending the community discussion may RSVP online at: https://www.cmpinc.net/ONAP. Please feel free to add this link to your website and distribute it widely to others who may be interested.

Individuals attending the HIV/AIDS Community Discussion will be given up to 1.5 minutes to provide their National HIV/AIDS Strategy recommendations. In addition, participants will be given the opportunity to submit written recommendations before leaving the event, or alternatively, can forward their recommendations to AIDSpolicy@who.eop.govAIDSpolicy@who.eop.gov.
