Hotline

Our hotline is the place to come for questions frequently asked of the Hotline peer counselors, and links to the information most sought after by our callers and e-mailers.

Answers to many questions can be found by visiting "Ask GMHC". If you find that your questions are not answered there, you can email us at: hotline@gmhc.org. We hope to answer you within 14 days of receiving your request. However, please understand that we get a large volume of emails each day, and our ability to respond depends on our peer counselors' availability.

If you need a quicker response, or would like to speak anonymously with a peer counselor, please call the GMHC Hotline at 212-807-6655 or 1-800-AIDS-NYC (1-800-243-7692).

Hours: We are open Monday through Friday 10 am to 6 pm (Eastern Time -GMT minus 5 hours).

PLEASE NOTE HOLIDAY SCHEDULE:
The GMHC Hotline will be closed on Monday, May 25, 2009 in observance of Memorial Day. All of GMHC will be closed Monday, May 25, 2009 and will reopen Tuesday, May 26, 2009.

If you would like to speak to a counselor during this time please call the CDC National AIDS Hotline 800-232-4636 (800 CDC INFO) (open 24/7) for information and referral to local hotlines, testing centers, and counseling.

You may also call the New York State HIV/AIDS Information Line & Counseling 800-541-2437(English) 800-233-7432 (Spanish) and their usual hours Monday – Friday, 8 am – 8 pm, Saturday & Sunday 10 am – 6 pm.
