Using This Site

 

Welcome to www.GMHC.org. This Web site contains not only a detailed description of GMHC's programs and services, but also hundreds of pages containing information and resources about various health, public policy, and legal aspects of HIV and AIDS.

The site is divided into several main navigation areas and special sections:

Quick Guides
At the top-right of every page, the Quick Guide pull-down menus provide an easy way to access the information you need most. The guides are divided into two categories:

"I am…" offers information and resources for women, gay men, immigrants, etc. both inside and outside of GMHC.

"I need…" offers a short cut to various important sections of the site such as HIV/AIDS basics, statistics, client registration, and more.

Donate Now
Also located in the top-right area of every page, the "Donate Now" button allows you to make a secure donation instantly to help GMHC fund its vital programs and services.

We are GMHC
This section, located on many pages in far-right column, contains personal stories from our clients and volunteers.

This section contains detailed information about what we offer at GMHC, both to clients and to the general public.

HIV/AIDS & Health
Here you will find all of GMHC's health-related content, including: HIV/AIDS basics, treatment, testing, nutrition, sexually transmitted infections, an HIV/AIDS glossary, statistics, and special sections for gay men and women.

About GMHC
This section will tell you about GMHC and a list of our Board of Directors, press releases, our annual report, an HIV/AIDS timeline, and floor directory.

Public Policy and Activism
In addition to highlighting GMHC's public policy work, this section contains information about legal issues, government insurance and benefits, and activism tips.

Volunteer
GMHC's relies heavily on more than 7,000 volunteers. This section details the various volunteer opportunities available and how you can get involved.

En Español
This section contains all of our Spanish content, and includes information on testing, HIV/AIDS basics, our hotline, and treatment fact sheets.

Donate
In this section you can learn about the many ways to donate to GMHC.

Materials & Merchandise
This section offers many educational materials available for purchase. You can also use this section to order our popular holiday greeting cards, address labels, and red ribbon pins.

Hotline
GMHC's hotline responds to over 35,000 calls a year. Here you can find out how to contact the hotline via telephone or email. Our hotline section also houses "Ask GMHC", where you can read the answers to frequently asked questions that have been sent in to our hotline.

Calendar
Our calendar contains a comprehensive list of daily workshops and groups, special events, and important upcoming conferences.

Press
Our press center contains resources for the media.

Here are links to dozens of sites for general information about HIV/AIDS, policy, medical, and government resources from around the country.
